What cats don’t like (and how to better understand them)
At Pavllove, we believe that every cat is unique, with its own personality, habits, and little quirks. However, there are some commonalities that many felines share… and which are worth knowing if you want to offer them a happy and balanced daily life.
Here is an overview of the things our feline friends don't particularly enjoy – and some advice on how to better respect their nature.

1. Sudden changes
Our feline companions are great lovers of routine. Their territory, their meals, their rest periods… everything is codified. A move, a sudden absence, a change in food, or even a change in your schedule can deeply unsettle them.
A destabilized cat may become distant, suspicious, or seek to isolate itself. At Pavllove, we always advise introducing changes gently and supporting your cat with reassuring markers: their favorite treats, toys, or even their blanket that carries their scent.

2. Noise, a source of stress
Naturally calm and discreet, cats handle loud or sudden noises poorly. Vacuum cleaners, arguments, car horns… for us, it is just everyday noise, but for them, it is a real source of anxiety.
In our Pavllove world, we advocate for a peaceful home, where the well-being of animals also depends on the atmosphere of the house.
3. Water, an element not always appreciated
Even if some felines are exceptions, the majority do not like water in large quantities. Rainstorms, bathtubs, and especially swimming pools are often perceived as dangers. However, when it comes to drinking, the cat is very demanding: it prefers clear, fresh water.
A Pavllove tip: place several bowls of water around the house, and refresh them regularly to encourage them to stay well hydrated.
4. Closed doors: a barrier to freedom
A cat loves to explore and move freely within its territory. A closed door is like a frustration… or worse, a threat, because it doesn't know what is hiding behind it. That is why it meows, scratches, or tries to open it itself.
At Pavllove, we see this as a great life lesson: the cat reminds us that freedom is essential to its happiness.
5. Strong odors
Their sense of smell is much more developed than ours, and certain odors are unbearable to them: citrus, vinegar, onions, menthol… as well as an uncleaned litter box.
A pleasant home for your cat is, above all, a healthy and natural environment. This is the Pavllove philosophy: limit chemical products, favor natural ingredients, and take care of their environment every day.
6. Persistent staring
Staring directly into a cat's eyes can be interpreted as a challenge or a threat. In feline language, it is a confrontational posture. To show your affection, simply blink your eyes slowly or look away – it is their way of saying “I love you” and “I trust you”.

In conclusion
Our cats have their little demands, but that is also what makes them so fascinating and unique. By respecting their rhythm and their sensitivities, we build a harmonious and close-knit relationship.

At Pavllove, we are committed to supporting you on this beautiful adventure by offering natural, local products designed for their well-being… because a happy cat means a peaceful home.
